As 2021 has come to a close, we at NAmTrans would like to take a moment to reflect on the past year. Our North Country Transportation Equipment & Aerospace cluster has not only survived another year but has continued to innovate, invest, and grow during these challenging times.
The North Country Chamber of Commerce won two awards at the 2021 International Economic Development Council's (IEDC) Annual Conference. A Silver Rank award in the Multi-Year Economic Development category for the work of its subsidiary, the North American Center of Excellence for Transportation Equipment (NAmTrans).
Plattsburgh and the North Country Chamber of Commerce have been recognized by fDi Magazine, a publication of the Financial Times of London, among the Top 25 Cities in the Americas for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Strategy. Plattsburgh was #14 among other North and South American cities such as Montreal, New York City, Bogota and San Jose, Costa Rica.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the North Country’s Transportation Equipment & Aerospace cluster has not only survived 2020 but has grown – proving once again its resilience and ability to not only adapt but thrive during tough times.
In appreciation of years of collaboration and support from the North Country Chamber of Commerce, and new endeavors through NAmTrans, Bombardier recently awarded the Chamber with a $10,000 Diamond Sponsorship!

To better understand the challenges that our North Country Transportation Equipment & Aerospace Cluster has been, and anticipates facing, as a result of COVID-19, NAmTrans issued a COVID-19 Needs Assessment Survey. And despite COVID hurdles, the Cluster remains optimistic for the future!
NAmTrans releases Strategic Plan & Implementation Strategy that will guide organization's efforts with, and on behalf of, the cluster for years to come.
